FUNCTIONS OF UHBVN

UHBVN has 3 primary functions:

·         Operations & Maintenance

·         Project & Design

·         Regulatory & Commercial

Distribution Set-up & Functions

UHBVN is divided into two operation zones, Panchkula Zone & Rohtak Zone. Each Zone is headed by a Chief Engineer (Operation). The North Zone consists of 5 Circles headed by SEs, namely Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Kaithal & Karnal Circles. The Rohtak Zone consists of 5 circles headed by SEs, namely Panipat, Sonepat, Rohtak, Jind & M&P (Delhi) Circles. In all there are 27 Nos. Operation Divisions headed by Executive Engineers & 115 Nos. operation Sub-divisions headed by Asst. Executive Engineers/Asst. Engineers for rendering following primary service to the consumers:

·         Operation & Maintenance of power supply system

·         Release of New connections

·         Redressal of public grievances in routine & through monthly meetings at Sub-division/Division levels

Commercial Function

The Commercial wing is headed by the CGM (Commercial) supported by 2 GMs namely GM (Commercial) & GM (System Operation). The DGM (Commercial) looks after following functions:

·         Formulating Tariff proposals for Haryana Regulatory Commission (HERC)

·         Preparation, issue & implementation of Sales Instructions

·         Billing of consumers.

·         Monitoring the revenue collection activities & recovery of defaulting amount

System Operation functions

·         To coordinate & monitor the purchase of power from HVPN in association with Account Wing

·         To monitor and control the power consumption by various circles under UHBVN as per quota fixed by HVPN

·         To monitor the operating parameters of UHBVN system

·         To introduce the power regulatory measures as imposed by HVPN as per system requirement

Energy Audit Functions

·         Control and audit of energy drawn by around 1630, 11 KV feeders emanating from 254 sub-stations under the jurisdiction of UHBVN

·         The agriculture power booking (unmetered as well as metered), the Division wise losses, Sub-Divisions having losses more than 30% besides Division wise Rural as well as Urban and sub division wise targets vis-a-vis actual are being monitored on monthly basis .

·         To monitor detection of thefts, disconnections & unauthorized extensions on daily basis.

·         To compute and monitor Distribution losses, feeder-wise, Sub-division-wise/Division-wise in UHBVN.
